Day 3. Amboseli and Kilimanjaro

Today we get up early to go on a morning safari. The African night is deep and dark, but the day comes quickly after the first ray of daylight arrives. It is then that all the animals of the savannah are most active and on the lookout for lions and leopards that still lurk in the dark that still stay in the dense bushes.

Amboseli is known for its large herds of elephants, whi are often seen standing knee-deep in mud and sashing the mud over themselves as protection against heat and insects. In these beautiful surroundings there is also mu more. The landscape is perfect for the eetah to hunt in. A whole range of buffalo and giraffes also graze here, carefully nibbling leaves from the spiky foliage. Several gazelle species move out on the open savannah, always with a watful eye for fast felines and possible ambushes.

In the afternoon it will be time for safari again. We make a stop at "Observationsfjellet" from where we admire the beauty of this ancient Eden. If the weather gods are in their right mood, we can see the snow on Kilimanjaro's broad peak.

Day 4. Lava and crystal clear water

After breakfast, we leave Amboseli and continue towards Tsavo West through a spectacular landscape where volcanoes have spewed huge masses of lava, the so-called Shetanilava.

The road winds down the slopes and soon we arrive at Tsavo West, whi has denser vegetation than its eastern counterpart. In the north, the Tsavo river contributes to the wildlife here being very ri in animals.
